Four arrested over early hours stabbing

Detectives have arrested four people in connection with the stabbing of a man in Telford.
The three men and one woman were taken into custody last night following the attack in the Station Road and The Parade area of Wellington on Saturday.
The victim, who is in his mid 20s and has not been named, suffered numerous injuries during the incident, including stab wounds. He is still in hospital but was today described as being in a “stable condition”.
Detective Sergeant Ian Rutherford, of Telford police, said: “We’ve got three men and one woman in custody who have been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
“They were held overnight. They will be interviewed later today.
“The police investigation is continuing. We are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.”
The victim was taken to Princess Royal Hospital following Saturday’s attack.
Mr Rutherford said: “He’s still in hospital. He’s in a stable condition but likely to remain in hospital for another week.”
The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, between midnight and 1.30am.
Police at the time said the incident was “a vicious assault which has left the victim in a serious condition”.
Officers said the stabbing happened during a busy night in Wellington and anybody with any information is being asked to come forward.
