Exciting Wolves delight Iwelumo
Monday 18th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Chris Iwelumo has continued the Molineux feelgood factor by saying Wolves are playing the most exciting football he’s ever been involved in.Iwelumo took his tally to four goals in five days with a brace in the 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Mick McCarthy’s men have now rattled in nine goals in three games to make light of last season’s struggles in front of goal.

“This is the most exciting football I’ve been involved in – I’m buzzing and delighted to be here and I’m loving it,” said Iwelumo.
“That’s why I came here. I don’t believe I got that service where I was before. “To score four already, just shows the standard the quality we’ve got here with the young, exciting players.
“I feel old saying that, but we’ve got some fantastic players. It’s just one game, but we’re heading in the right direction. We’ve got to work on the negatives and the positives will come if we keep doing what we’re doing.”
At 6ft 3in Iwelumo believes he can be the big presence Wolves have sometimes lacked up front.
“I’ve been brought here to be a complete nuisance and I enjoy scoring goals so long may that continue,” said the Scot. “I’ve got to be a presence and lead the line.
“I’ve got to make sure the defenders know I’m about and get in there if the ball’s not ‘sticking’.”
He feels Wolves have already addressed last season’s scoring problems.
“We have young, exciting players – we’ve got fantastic wingers and strikers,” he added.
Wolves are also sweating of the fitness of captain Jody Craddock after he limped off on Saturday.
Craddock is set to undergo x-rays on his foot today after manager Mick McCarthy revealed the experienced defender ‘felt a click’ in the damaged area.
“Jody felt something click in his foot and clearly couldn’t carry on,” said McCarthy. “He’s got to have an x-ray and a scan to see if there’s any soft tissue damage.”
