Alarm over ‘raid’ at PO

Monday 18th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Police officers were this afternoon called out to Albrighton post office after reports of an attempted robbery.

Paramedics were also sent to the branch in Station Road after the call was received shortly after 2pm.

John Hawker, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said today: “We were called to the post office in Station Road, Albrighton at 2.10pm.

“There were reports of an attempted robbery. We have no details yet, but one ambulance was dispatched.”

It was not yet clear whether anyone was injured during the incident at the post office, which is in a residential area.
