Coughlan under no pressure
Saturday 16th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Shrewsbury Town have vowed not to rush defender Graham Coughlan back from the injury which has ruined the start of his season.
The 33-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s 1-0 home Carling Cup defeat to Carlisle.
Coughlan was doing light jogging at Town’s Sundorne training base on Thursday – but is still thought to be facing an absence of up to three weeks.
Manager Paul Simpson has confirmed he will not be tempted to throw one of his main summer recruits back into the first-team fray until he is 100 per cent fit.
“Graham is still uncomfortable with it,” said Simpson. “He’s in good hands and we just have to hope if they think it’s three weeks that is what it is, if not sooner.
“But we can’t afford to take chances. We want to make sure it’s cleared up probably.
“We have got good options – Shane Cansdell-Sherriff can go there and Kelvin Langmead has slotted in so we have got good options that can go into there and that’s why we wanted a strong squad.”

Another good article. Hamstring injuries are not pleasant and need the time to recover properly. The Manager is right to allow Graham the time needed. Graham demonstrated what a good addition he is with his Macclesfield performance. Best Wishes Graham for a quick return.
