Scooter rider stuck in puddle

Tuesday 12th August 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Firefighters had to push a woman in a mobility scooter out of a puddle in Telford today.

A crew from Wellington fire station was called out at about 10.10am to a footpath off Whitchurch Drive.

They found the scooter had stopped in an 8in-deep puddle as the woman, belie-ved to be from Leegomery, tried to ride through it.

Leading firefighter Ian Pugh said the water caused the electrics at the bottom of the scooter to short.
