Clock Restorer Siro Poli, of Bayston Hill, with the World Time Clock
Clock restorers in Shropshire are dwarfed by what they believe is the biggest clock wheel ever to have been created.
The wheel has come from the main foyer of the City Bank in London’s Canary Wharf and is currently wowing the workers at Clocks UK in Bayston Hill, near Shrewsbury.

Siro Poli’s workshop in Hereford Road has seen many shapes and sizes of clocks over the years but the latest delivery nearly did not fit in the shop.
But it was not the first time Mr Poli had set eyes on the huge wheel.
He said: “I first got involved with it about four years ago because it was in their old head office in Cheapside and they needed it removing to move to the new head office as the old one was being demolished.
“This time the top bearing has started to play up so we have been called in to strip it down and fit new bearings.
“I picked it up on July 13 and I brought it back and had to put it back together. We will dismantle it again this week and it is going back to London on Sunday.
“It is like a big Mechano set, it takes three-and-a-half hours to dismantle and about five hours to put back together.”
