Rover Ince returns to Molineux

Friday 1st August 2008, 11:49AM BST.

Paul IncePaul Ince takes his bow as an opposition manager at Molineux demanding his Blackburn Rovers side sharpen up.

Ince, the former Wolves player who came close to stepping up as manager after Glenn Hoddle’s exit, is warning his disrupted team that they face a difficult test against his former side.

His journey since leaving Molineux has emcompassed a spell at Swindon as player/coach, his first managerial job with Macclesfield, a move to MK Dons and the League Two title, before being appointed the first black British Premier League manager at Ewood Park this summer.

It fell upon Wolves boss Mick McCarthy to end Ince’s four-year association with the club in 2006 but he has offered his congratulations to the man he sent packing.

He said: “His decision to go to Macclesfield and then MK Dons has paid dividends for him and I congratulate him on that. Some players of his profile who can’t get a job high up give up trying, so Paul should be congratulated.”
