Friday 1st August 2008, 12:03AM BST.
The Mercury Prize nominated Last Shadow Puppets come to Wolverhampton on October 11 – backed by a 16-piece string orchestra.
The duo are better known as Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys and pal Miles Kane, of Liverpool band The Rascals.
The pair met when on tour with Miles former band The Little Flames and Alex’s band Arctic Monkeys.
They found a common interest in 1960s pop including Scott Walker. Kane describes the connection between the two was “Mind-blowing”
Their album, entitled The Age of the Understatement, was released in April to acclaim and went straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart.
It was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize last month.
The pair are reportedly planning to release new material next year, some feat considering the busy schedules of their own bands.
Their Glastonbury Festival performance in June saw the pair play a secret set with Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders playing drums and Jack White of The Raconteurs and The White Stripes joining to play guitar on one track.
