Proms at park set to begin
Saturday 26th July 2008, 9:30AM BST.
Hundreds of people were preparing to set up their picnics today for a huge musical extravaganza in the grounds of a stately home on the Shropshire border.
The annual Proms Spectacular at Weston Park, was due to start at 7.30pm.
The English National Orchestra is set to perform a 007 section, to mark the centenary of the birth of his creator, author Ian Fleming.
Jane Savage, from the organisers, said: “The English National Orchestra will perform a James Bond theme selection including Paul McCartney’s 1973 classic Live and Let Die, and the vintage 1964 John Barry Goldfinger.”
