Town property firm bucking trend

A Shropshire-based property company has bucked the downturn in the housing market by opening a new office in the county as bosses claim they have seen a boom in business.

Black and White Properties will open in Tan Bank, Wellington, on Monday.

Bosses said three jobs would initially be created, but hoped more staff would be needed in the future.

Meanwhile, a new fashion store will be opening in High Street, Shrewsbury, in October bringing at least 12 jobs to the town.

White Stuff, which sells casual clothes for men and women, will open its 51st store on October 9 in the former clothes store McClure’s, which closed in February after 100 years in business across Shropshire.

Harry Kee, owner of the new Black and White Properties office in Wellington, said: “Everyone involved with the firm and its launch is very positive with regards to its future success.”

Kerry Jones, of Black and White Properties, said: “The opening has created three full-time jobs so far but we will be looking to employ more people in the future.”

Black and White Properties is a division of More and More Mortgages, a mortgage brokerage based in Stokesay, Telford.

The new opening has bucked the trend just a month after the brakes were applied on building work at Telford’s flagship 3,300 home project, Ironstone, in Lawley.
