Castle crank up pressure on rivals

bowling.jpgCastlefields maintained top spot in the Furrows Shropshire Premier Bowls League with an emphatic 13-1 win over Chester Road.

Second-placed St Georges kept up the pace with a fine 9-5 win at the Bayley Club. Wem also hit top form with a 11-3 home win over Ifton, which keeps them in third spot.

Wrockwardine Wood jumped up to fifth in the table after a 13-1 home victory over Archibald Worthington.

At the other end of the table, Childs Ercall moved six points clear of Donnington after a crucial 10-4 home win over the rock-bottom side.

Meole Brace enjoyed a 13-1 home win v Bylet, while Ford had to settle for an 8-6 home win over improving Newport.
