Hurren, 22, played 101 times for the Harriers, having signed in 2005 after completing his apprenticeship at Nottingham Forest.

He began his career as a centre-half, but has also featured in midfield for much of the last two years – scoring many spectacular goals.

The highlight of his Kidderminster career came in May 2007 when he lined up at Wembley in the Trophy final, but finished on the losing side as Stevenage came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

“He’s training with us, but there’s no deal for him on the table at the moment,” said Smith.

“I don’t think he could agree terms with Kidderminster at the end of last season and he’s a friend of Stuart Whitehead (the Telford captain), so he asked if he could come and do training with us.

“It’s a possibility (that he could sign) in the future, but we need to see how things go with our injuries first and it may be that he is looking to get fixed up with a Conference club.”

Should Hurren sign for the Bucks further down the line, he would be their sixth summer siging, with right-sided defender Martyn Naylor becoming the fifth arrival over the weekend.

Naylor has agreed a one-year contract and will put pen to paper after training tomorrow evening.

He has rejected the offer of trials at Wrexham and Kidderminster to join the Bucks – and also turned down a deal with Steve Bull’s Stafford Rangers.

The former TNS man, who played for the old Telford United in the mid-1990s, is expected to start the season in the right wing-back berth as regular No 2 Lee Vaughan will be suspended.
