New homes still on hold

Saturday 5th July 2008, 6:59PM BST.

Work on a 106-home estate in Bridgnorth is still delayed – three months after planning permission was granted – due to the slump in the housing market.

Persimmon Homes won planning permission to build the estate on the old Bridgnorth College of Further Education site in April.

But bosses said today that they had not seen any significant improvement in market conditions, so they would only progress sold and contracted plots.

The plans include 70 flats, 18 detached houses, 13 semi-detached and five terraced homes.
