Wednesday 2nd July 2008, 11:50AM BST.

A driver was left hanging upside down by her seatbelt after her car overturned in Ironbridge today.

Firefighters had to cut the seatbelt to free the woman from the maroon Kia car after the accident in Ironbridge Road, near Jackfield Bridge, shortly before 12.30am.

Another vehicle believed to have been involved failed to stop.

An ambulance spokesman said the driver was treated for a hand injury and taken to Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital but later discharged.
