Steam rail trip is postponed

Monday 30th June 2008, 6:59PM BST.

A special railway trip designed to bring back memories of an era of steam to Shropshire had to be postponed because of engineering works.

The Welsh Marches Express was due to complete a 240-mile round-trip to Bristol on Saturday, headed by the famous Pacific LMS locomotive 6201 Princess Elizabeth which was due to take over at Shrewsbury.

Organisers Kingfisher Railtours today said it was hoped it would be rescheduled to take place before the autumn.
