Egg plan protest meeting

Thursday 26th June 2008, 11:50AM BST.

An open meeting is to be held tonight as part of a campaign to stop a 40-acre free range egg-laying unit being build near homes in Lilleshall.

People living on the Richards Road estate at the Humbers are unhappy with the proposals for the 16,000-bird unit at Honnington Grange.

The application was refused by Telford & Wrekin Council but applicant Richard Tomkinson has now appealed.

Objector Gillian Aldridge said residents were meeting in a playing field off Hill Road to rally support and explain their objections to the proposal.
