Toxic waste fear near Wrekin

The Wrekin in ShropshireAn area close to The Wrekin was sealed off by police over fears that toxic waste had been dumped.

A member of the public discovered five leaking barrels of waste dumped in a lay-by between the Wrekin and Little Wenlock at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The fire service was called to the scene as the stench of the waste spread across the area.

Crews then called the police to close off roads and direct traffic while investigations were carried out.
