Robbo and Rushie due to appear
Saturday 14th June 2008, 11:30AM BST.
Shropshire is to welcome football legends from Manchester United and Liverpool to play in a pre-season match.
Legendary names such as Bryan Robson, Frank Stapleton, Ian Rush, Denis Irwin, Bruce Grobbelaar, John Barnes and more will appear.
The match will take place on August 3, kicking off at 2pm.
As well as the football, a family fun day is being held at the Ludlow Town Football Club event.
Activities will start from 11am with face painting, an ice-cream van, catering and a refreshments tent for the grown-ups. The club staged a similar event last year, when the club’s past and present player took on a Manchester Utd All-stars XI.
Thousands of people from Ludlow and the neighbouring towns turned out to watch the memorable match.
This year, because of the fact that former stars from two of the world’s biggest clubs have agreed to play each other, Ludlow Town FC is expecting several thousand people to show up for the match.
Businesses or companies in Shropshire are being offered the chance to sponsor either Man Utd or Liverpool on the day. The club is offering a unique package to anyone who wants to take up the opportunity.

Advance tickets for the football match are £7 or £3 concessions, match-day tickets are £8 and £4 and children under five will go free.
