Rustlers hit two areas

Tuesday 10th June 2008, 11:50AM BST.

Almost 100 pigs have been stolen from a Shropshire farm.

The 94 animals from the farm near Shawbury were rounded up into a large vehicle before the offenders made off.

The incident happened between about 6.30pm on Thursday and 7.30am on Friday.

Meanwhile, in south Shropshire, 20 ewes and up to 50 lambs were stolen from a field in Newcastle-on-Clun, near Craven Arms, between Wednesday and Saturday. The sheep are worth £2,500.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
