Friday 23rd May 2008, 12:10PM BST.
Cleaners prevented a potentially serious blaze at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford today after being alerted by a smoke alarm.
The alarm was sounding at 8.30am in one of the terraced nurses’ homes on site and when the cleaners went in to investigate they found it choked with smoke.
Firefighters found a pan of food on a lit stove in the communal kitchen.
