Semi flops make final
Tuesday 20th May 2008, 11:49AM BST.
Lose a semi-final and still end up in the final – that’s the riddle of rugby’s Shropshire Cup.
The scheduled meeting between Newport and Whitchurch was postponed last week after the north Shropshire side withdrew and forfeited the game.
But Ludlow, who lost to Whitchurch in the last four, have now expressed a desire to play in the final instead.
That has been accepted and they will now take on Newport on at Forton Road on Thursday at 6.30pm.
