Saturday 17th May 2008, 11:49AM BST.
Shropshire teenager David Pallett’s superb season has been rewarded with him being named the British Darts Organisation’s young player of the year.
The 18-year-old has won the honour after a year that has seen him break onto the international arena, appearing in a friendly for the England Youth team.
Pallett, from Newport, won both his matches in England colours against the Rest of Europe on the famous Lakeside Tavern stage.
The youngster also plays for Shropshire County A, Shropshire Youth and Northern Youth, as well as representing the Railway Tavern in his home town.
He won eight out of the nine games he played for the Shropshire Men’s A Team this season and finished 50th overall in the men’s averages for the county.
