Vandals in attack at town dentists
Tuesday 13th May 2008, 11:50AM BST.
Police are examining CCTV footage after property at a dentists in Oswestry was vandalised.
The dental surgery in Church Street was targeted over the weekend.
West Mercia police today appealed for information after the attack, in which more than £100 damage was caused to the premises.
Officers say that a perimeter fence and toilet window at the property were damaged between about 6pm on Saturday and 9.30am yesterday.
A wheelie bin was also knocked over.
The property is next to Oswestry’s Cae Glas Park, which has had CCTV security cameras installed in the hope that they will act as a crime deterrent.
Statistics say vandalism in the park was cut following the installation of the cameras.
In the past the park has suffered from vandalism to trees, flowers and other areas.
A police spokesman said: “Police are examining CCTV footage from the nearby Cae Glas Park.
“We would be keen to hear from anyone who might have witnessed persons around the dental surgery during that night.”
The spokesman added: “Information can be passed to police on 08457 444888 or by telephoning the Crimestoppers number, anonymously, on 0800 555111, where people do not have to leave their name.”
