Town boss ready to go shopping

Paul Simpson insists he has received encouraging early signs from potential summer signings for Shrewsbury Town.
The Oteley Road boss refuses to be drawn on individual targets, but insists he has been happy with initial talks with players who could come onto his radar during the close season.
Simpson has already gone on record in indicating he will scour the Championship and League One for players as he looks to strengthen a squad which limped to an 18th placed finish in League Two this season.
And managing director Rob Bickerton yesterday insisted the manager would receive the “absolute support” of the directors as he attempts to freshen up his playing staff.
“It’s been a busy week trying to finalise out the pre-season programme, doing things at the club which needed sorting and talking to players as well,” said Simpson.
“We have spoken to a few players to see whether they would be interested in coming to us.
“The early indications are positive and now it’s a case of trying to get an answer out of them over the coming weeks.”

Guessing the new targets are the freshly relegated Wrexham or Mansfield players still wanting to play league football. That should improve the squad no end! Lets face it, after towns performance this season no decent player will want to be any part of them.

Always talk to the organ grinder not the monkey.
Salop are in a decent position as we are not saddled with debt, have a good ground and are well supported by league 2 standards. We also have the 500K windfall due when Joe hart pulls on the England number 1 shirt soon…

You can do it Paul.
I think you got the job though because have the experience and knowledge of who will improve the team and that you will get 100% from all the players.
