Sarah on podium at Swiss contest

Shropshire’s Sarah Adlington was one of three Britons to win medals at the prestigious Swiss Judo Open.
The 21-year-old, who hails from Bayston Hill, near Shrewsbury, took bronze in the over-78kgs section at the weekend.
That represented an impressive feat in a competition that attracted 344 competitors from 22 different countries.
There were 37 competitors from Great Britain, including Dan Williams of Shrewsbury – who is a member of Wolverhampton Judo Club – and Rebecca Dunning of Telford, who represents the Hardy Spicer Club in Birmingham.
Adlington was one of only three Brits to win a medal, along with fellow GB squad member Simone Callender and Nathan Burns of Camberley.
Her run to the podium included a win over the 2007 champion, the experienced Katrin Beinroth of Germany, who is ranked 11 in Europe. Rebecca Ramanich of France won the gold.
Adlington, who is now based in Edinburgh, still has her eye on the Beijing Olympics later this year.
The spot in the over– 78kgs category has already gone to Katrina Bryant, but Adlington is hopeful of being named as reserve – just as she was for the recent European Championships.
She has a busy few weeks ahead, with the the British Open over the Bank Holiday weekend next on the agenda.
And has again been asked to fight for the highly-ranked team KSV Esslingen in the Judo Bundesliga, Germany.
