Little ponders as Dragons go down
Wednesday 23rd April 2008, 11:12AM BST.
Wrexham are facing up to life outside the Football League for the first time in 87 years.
The Dragons’ relegation from Coca-Cola League Two was confirmed after a 2-0 defeat by promotion chasing Hereford United last night.
After the match boss Brian Little described the feeling of being relegated as “horrible”, but said he was already masterminding the club’s revival.
He said: “I can’t take away what this feels like and can’t tell you what it feels like, except to say I sampled this nearly 20 years ago and in the last few weeks I have had that feeling again. It’s horrible.
“Tonight is about us hitting the bottom and it is now about looking at the club in the future. The football club itself doesn’t need rebuilding as it is in good condition.
“We have got a group of players, including some of our younger players, who have got into a way of losing football matches.
“My job now is to be ruthless, sort the team out and get new players in.
“Once again we probably gifted Hereford the two goals.
“In some respect it’s a wrong group of players to sample relegation.
“Sometimes when you chase something as horrible you become more resilient and can go on to do lots of things.”

As a Shrewsbury Town supporter I think I can vouch for a lot of Town supporters in saying that although we are fierce rivals Wrexham will be sadly missed. The matches between us are always a highlight of the season no matter where either of us are in the league.
Best of luck to yourselves and Brian Little for next season in getting back up to league two.
