Postcard dates back to World War I
Tuesday 22nd April 2008, 9:16AM BST.
We don’t visit Leominster very often in Looking Back, so let’s do some catching up today. This is Leominster Priory Church as seen in a postcard franked on April 12, 1916.
The message was: “April 12, 1916. Dear M., I hope you are keeping in the pink, have just arrived at Photo 1.45. Will see you on Friday for certain, if not on Thursday night. Weather lovely. With best wishes and love, Walter (? – signature difficult to read).”
It was posted to Miss M.J. Robinson, of 15 Argyle Road, Anfield, Liverpool.
The card, published by The Leominster Printing Co, was loaned to us by Mrs Mary Sheriff, of Whitchurch.
