Woman jailed for Asbo breach
Monday 21st April 2008, 6:59PM BST.
A Shrewsbury woman who was drunk in control of dangerous dogs and put the public “at risk” has been jailed.
Louise Marie Armitage, 35, of The Ridings, Gains Park, was sentenced to six months in jail after breaching an anti-social behaviour order nine times.
She appeared before a judge at Shrewsbury Crown Court for sentencing today.
She was slapped with the Asbo in September 2006 and admitted breaching it nine times between January 15 and February 22 this year at an earlier magistrates hearing.
Today the court heard the order required her not to be in control of a dog without it being muzzled or on a lead, not be drunk in Shrewsbury town centre and to stay away from two town churches.
Mr Mark Linkins, prosecuting, said Armitage had breached the Asbo “almost daily” since it was issued.
