Homes with gorgeous gardens
Monday 7th April 2008, 10:00AM BST.

Above: The stunning gardens at Ludford Mill, near Ludlow, were probably first laid around 1911 by the Arts & Craft’s architect Basil Stallybrass. Present owners have enhanced the gardens, which now incorporate a rock garden, a river island, a bog garden, a croquet lawn and mature trees and flowering shrubs. The gardens have been featured in Country Living and in Ludlow’s Secret Gardens book.
Below: The Grade II listed Ludford Mill occupies a glorious position in an historic hamlet on the River Teme. Mainly of 17th century construction, it’s one of the eight corn mills that used to serve Ludlow and some of the machinery has been preserved within the house. It’s currently on the market with a guide price of £725,000 through Humberts on (01584) 877778.
