Blimey, sorry to say this but you chaps have made a questionable decision appointing Simmo manager – he took Carlisle down before he got them up, snatched mediocrity from the jaws of the Premiership in season one and oversaw a massive drop in spirit and performance in season 2 at the North End – be prepared for confidence plummeting and some odd decisions. But best of luck to you – you shouldn’t go down..not this season at any rate!

A survey on this site gave Simpson the majority vote and I think ‘fan power’ swayed STFC as it seems to me he was pre-selected even before the job was formally advertised. Alas his dubious team selection and formation appears no better than Gary Peters’. The two games under McMahon were good solid performances and I think he should have been given a longer spell in charge.
