Move will not stop smoking

Big Brother is at us again, this time to make shopkeepers, supermarkets and tobacco outlets hide cigarettes, cigars and tobacco under their counters to prevent the younger generation taking up smoking.
Every individual in the country has the warning of how bad smoking is for you rammed down their throats every day by the media and advertising.
So it is a free choice whether they smoke or not.
What good is hiding tobacco products under the counter going to do? If you hide something it naturally makes you want to know what is being hidden.
This will be the death nail to all traditional tobacconist shops and will lead to more unemployment.

The black market in guns and ammunition is rife and there are more guns in the wrong hands on the streets than ever before.
Drugs are out of sight but I would imagine they have the biggest turnover and are outstripping most of our largest industries in profits.
Driving tobacco products out of sight will make them all the more tempting to the younger generation. It’s a natural instinct. What’s next Big Brother?
Hide all the alcohol products in public houses?

i think many of the comments above are a little over the top dunblane was a totally different scenario it was a legaly held fire arm just a nut on the end of it guns are not banned just certain types 99% of gun crime is with illegal firearms which is where the problem lies there amnestys are just silly . as for putting cigs under the counter again silly raise the age of purchase which they did then it is down to choice enough nanny state please.

Great idea!!! Is this government then going to pay for shopkeepers to make there counters bigger and secure for them to put under the counter, or do they think the shopkeepers can afford to pay.!!!
