Abandoned kittens need homes

Five kittens, abandoned outside a Telford vets at just four days old, have been nursed back to health.
The white and tabby kittens which still had their eyes closed, could all fit into veterinary nurse Rebecca Plumridge’s hand.
Staff at Haygate Veterinary Centre, in Wellington, said the kittens, now a month old, had grown to a good size and would soon be weaned off milk and onto cat food.
On March 1 staff found a small box with a cat inside on the doorstep. Once inside they found the five kittens underneath their mother.
Miss Plumridge said: “We don’t know how long they had been there but kittens that young cannot be left out for long.
“We checked their temperatures and warmed them up. Luckily their mother is very good. She hadn’t left them which she easily could have, and she feeds them all the time.”
Miss Plumridge said the practice would be looking for new homes for the kittens in about another month.
