Stabbing victim walked into pub

A man walked into a pub in Shrewsbury after he was allegedly stabbed in the back four times with a craft knife.
The victim, in his mid-30s, went into the Anchor pub in Frankwell and was found to have puncture wounds.
Inspector Phil Shakesheff, of West Mercia Police, said people managed to flag down a passing police car at 9.20pm on Monday.
He said: “The alleged victim says he was restrained against a small railing and was then forced against a wall and stabbed in the back four times.
“He walked into a nearby pub and reported it and they managed to flag down police who were passing by.”
Insp Shakesheff said two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested in connection with the incident, which is believed to have taken place in a property nearby in Rope Walk Court.
They were arrested on suspicion of wounding and released on police bail pending further investigation.
The man, who has not been named, was treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for back wounds and kept in overnight for observation. A Shropshire Ambulance spokesman said: “The man had suffered quite a lot of blood loss.”
