Tuesday 26th February 2008, 11:40AM GMT.
Firefighters rescued a man from a fire at his flat in Mid Wales.
Crews rescued the man from the ground floor flat at Pen-y-Bryn, Crossgates near Llandrindod Wells, after a fire in the lounge.
Firefighters were called at 5.55pm yesterday. A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We conveyed one patient to Llandrindod Wells Hospital.
“A rapid response vehicle took the patient to hospital for treatment.”
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said the man suffered minor injuries but had later been released from hospital.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
It was the second flat fire Powys firefighters dealt with yesterday.
Crews from Newtown were called to premises in Shortbridge Street, Newtown, just before 3pm, to reports of a pan fire.
“The fire was extinguished by a sprinkler system installed in the premises and a fire blanket,” said a fire service spokesman.
