Lead theft at business

Tuesday 26th February 2008, 11:40AM GMT.

Thieves stripped lead worth £1,500 and weighing up to two tonnes from the roof of a Telford business.

They struck at the Enterprise Accident Repair Centre, in Hadley Park Road, Leegomery, between 5.30pm on Friday and 7.30am the following day, stealing lead flashing.

Detectives from West Mercia’s Livewire Operation, which aims to tackle the growing number of metal thefts in the force area, are now appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Telford’s Malinsgate police station on 08457 444888.
