Car crash woman trapped

A woman suffered serious injuries and had to be cut from the mangled wreckage of her car by firefighters after a crash near Ludlow.Another man was also injured in the two-vehicle collision on the A49, near the Salway Arms, at Woofferton, at about 7.30pm yesterday.
Police closed the busy road for about six hours while a rescue operation was carried out and the carriageway cleared.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, Murray MacGregor said: “The crash between two cars happened on a relatively straight section of road. Both vehicles had suffered serious damage; one driver was left trapped.
“The 49-year-old woman from Bangor in Wales had to be cut free. She had suffered a broken left arm, a probable dislocation of her right hip and a head injury.”
The other driver suffered arm and rib injuries.
Meanwhile, a man was airlifted to hospital after a crash in north Shropshire today. He was cut from his car after the collision on the A525 at Bronington at 8am.
