This is the face of one of the men wanted by police in connection with an armed robbery attempt at a Bridgnorth post office. Shots were fired during the incident.
Police investigating the raid at Low Town Post Office today issued the e-fit picture, which is based on information from witnesses who came forward as part of the investigation.
Detectives today also said the they believe two offenders used number plates on their getaway vehicle which were stolen from a car in Telford a few hours earlier.
Tomorrow will mark one month since the raid at the post office in St Johns Street when a man armed with a handgun fired several shots.
No-one was hurt during the raid and he escaped empty handed.
Police said they have been making steady progress and following up several promising lines of inquiry. Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Allan Crossley said the e-fit picture was of the driver, a man described as white, aged 19 to 24, wearing a dark-coloured top and a hat, possibly a baseball cap or a woollen hat
He said: “I would ask anyone who thinks they can identify this man to please contact Bridgnorth police station as a matter of urgency.”
Mr Crossley added that the getaway car was a white three-door Rover which was parked nearby in St Johns Street. It sped off into Mill Street towards Bandon island.
Officers are trying to trace the number plates used on the getaway car, believed to be M316 YWY, stolen from the Sutton Hill area of Telford on January 17 or 18.
