Raid bid suspect is bailed
Friday 8th February 2008, 11:40AM GMT.
A man arrested in connection with an armed robbery attempt at a Shropshire post office has been released on bail, detectives said today.
The man was arrested in the Telford area yesterday as part of the police investigation into the raid on Low Town Post Office in Bridgnorth three weeks ago.
He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Three men had already been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries following the raid on the post office in St Johns Street on January 18.
Police made those arrests at addresses in Telford last week, including Sutton Hill.
Days after the robbery, a car was cordoned off in Sutton Hill and surrounded by armed police. An area of the estate was sealed off before the car was taken away.
Police confirmed the activity had been in connection with the Low Town raid.
Detective Inspector Chris Hughes, the officer leading the investigation, said good progress was being made in the inquiry.
