Drug smuggler sent to jail

Thursday 7th February 2008, 6:41AM GMT.

A Telford woman who smuggled drugs into a prison in her bra has been jailed for 14 months.

Fiona Lockwood, 25, of Church Street, Hadley, admitted two charges of possessing cannabis with intent to supply, when she appeared at Stafford Crown Court.

Mr Pat Sullivan, prosecuting, said that when Lockwood went into Stafford prison to visit her boyfriend she was stopped by a sniffer dog.

She was searched and two small packets were recovered.

Mr James Cullen, for Lockwood, said her actions were the result of “misguided affection”.
