As somebody who only met “Jimmy” a few times, though I spoke and corresponded with him more frequently, I can say from my own experience that only one meeting with Jimmy was required to impress on one that he was an exceptional man. I think the people of Ludlow did Jimmy proud at his funeral and I am sure they will be sad at the loss but proud of the memory of a true hero.

my son is one of the serviceman who carried jimmy to his resting place,he stated that he felt very proud and honoured to do so. though there were many years between them it’s still nice to hear my son say “what a role model” about jimmy. we should be proud of all our servicemen and women.
