What a real winter looks like
Saturday 26th January 2008, 10:45AM GMT.

There was a time when winter was associated with weeks of freezing temperatures and snow.
But it’s been so long since there was a really hard winter that some youngsters are being deprived of learning what winter is really about.
So here, for them, is a snowy view of the junction of Admaston Road with the Shawbury turn off at Bratton in about 1964. The view is now completely filled in with the Shawbirch housing complex.
The photo was taken by Vic Hordley, a veteran photographer who has recently died.
