What about Bridgnorth and the flloding as it appears that unless you live ib Ironbridge or Bewdley we as a town do not exist!!!mind you that could be down to the fact that our town wasn’t warrented as being in need of flood defences!!! just let the water flow!!!

It’s just that there’s not enough businesses that are affected in Bridgnorth to justify barriers! Shame about those residents that get flooded…
Well another thing, if you divert the water you just send the problem somewhere else!

Flooding is a great time to witness stupid people.

Idiots Driving places they clearly shouldn’t

Fools buying houses next to rivers….. then blaming the government for their own stupidity

Brainless people that not only buy houses in areas that regularly flood, but they do not even get insured against loss….. then blame the government for their own stupidity.

Clowns, that play in close to swollen rivers. Then talk of their trauma when they risk the lives of others that have had to rescue them.

I know I’m heartless, and I expect abuse for my comments. However the people NOT in these groups mentioned above would probably agree with me.

Thanks Matty for all your very helpful and informed comments!! Not every one who lives by the River made a conscious decision to put themselves at risk of flooding. Our home has been in the family for generations and we have always dealt with any problems that occur via flood water ourselves. Our ‘few sticks of furniture’ (see comments by Terry) are either taken upstairs or put on raised surfaces. Only once has there been an insurance claim, and that flood was exceptional.
