The annual Star Woman ceremony at the Albrighton Hall Hotel in Shrewsbury was a chance for ladies from across the area to celebrate tales of guts, grit and determination.
This year’s awards featured ten finalists with outstanding stories of courage – but only one could be named 2007 Star Woman of the Year.
Video Journalist James Shaw was on hand to discover who the panel of judges decided should wear this year’s crown.

Why does the Shropshire Star continue with this sexiest award, why do they not have an award for Star Man to celebrate tales of guts, grit and determination.
I am sure that you would receive many complaints from women if year after year the Shropshire Star only had an annual award for Star Man. So why not change the award to Star Person and make it open to both genders.
