Father and son attacked
Monday 5th November 2007, 6:48PM GMT.
A father and son were attacked following a road rage incident in Telford. Detectives in the town are also investigating after two men were assaulted in a chip shop.
Police are appealing for information about the attacks.
Chris Ammonds, Telford police spokesman, said: “The assault appears to have taken place as a result of a road rage incident that started on Whitchurch Drive yesterday at about 11.05am.
“After the earlier altercation, the vehicles involved – a red Ford Fiesta and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van – pulled into the car park at the McDonald’s Restaurant, Wrekin Retail Park.
“The occupants of the two vehicles, a father and son in the Fiesta and a man in the Vivaro, then got out of their vehicles and a disagreement has taken place.
“During this disagreement, the man driving the van assaulted the two occupants of the Fiesta before fleeing the scene.”
The father needed hospital treatment for a two-inch cut to his head.
The Vivaro driver is described as white, about 6ft one inch tall, in his mid 20s, with dark hair and of medium build.
He was wearing a light grey top, denim jeans and trainers.
The other assault took place on Friday, at about 7.30pm, at Sail Fish Bar, Downemead, Hollinswood.
Mr Ammonds said: “Two males in their late 20s were assaulted by an unknown group of men.
“The men in the group are believed to be aged in their late teens or early 20s.”
Anyone with information about either assault is asked to contact officers at Telford’s Malinsgate police station on 08457 444888.
