The saga of waste collection
Wednesday 31st October 2007, 11:43AM GMT.
Description of the new fortnightly recyclable waste collection in Harlescott:
1. Check and confirm chart dates.
2. Put out boxes and/or green bins.
3. Leave at 7am.
4. Return at 2pm via Albert Road, noting that Albert Road’s bins and boxes have been emptied.
5. Turn into Rosedale, noting that only the bins have been emptied.
6. Phone council. Asked if we have got the right “collections” out.
7. Council confirms that we have and explains that the collection company has two lorries which operate in different areas.
8. Council rings company and confirms that it has done so. It advises us to keep our boxes out because they might be collected later.
9. 5pm put un-emptied boxes back into the garage.
I am now awaiting the collection of next week’s non-recyclable rubbish with interest.
