Royals due for visits to towns

The Princess Royal was due in Shropshire today – with a packed schedule of visits taking in north, east and west.

First on Princess Anne’s agenda was meeting reformed drink-drivers at the TTC Group, a driving education centre, in Hadley Park, Telford. She was due to be greeted by youngsters from a nearby nursery then officially open the centre.

Next the Princess was expected to open the new home of the Community Council of Shropshire, at Shrewsbury’s Battlefield Enterprise Park, before heading to Walford and North Shropshire College at Baschurch.

She was finally due to head for the Perry Riding School for the Disabled, at Walford, near Baschurch.

Meanwhile, the Duke of Gloucester was today due to visit businesses and residents hit by floods.

He was scheduled to visit Tenbury Wells then the flood-damaged Severn Valley Railway at Bewdley.
