Peters looking for Posh spice
Tuesday 2nd October 2007, 11:44AM BST.
Shrewsbury Town tonight attempt to take the road to redemption by atoning for their weekend woe by polishing off Peterborough.Saturday’s 4-3 defeat to Rochdale not only denied Shrewsbury the chance to top the table but also provided a major shock to the system, with a usually watertight defence conceding three goals in the last nine minutes.
But manager Gary Peters is anxious for his side not to dwell on that costly late horror show and instead focus their attention on registering a morale-boosting victory over one of the favourites for promotion this evening.
“It’s not getting knocked down which is the most important, it’s the way you get back up,” said the Town chief.
“We had a crazy 10 minutes on Saturday and people have to put that in perspective – and that includes me.
“We bounced back well after the MK Dons defeat and now we have to do the same tonight. It’s the chance to put things right and people need to show a hunger to do that.
“Saturday’s result does put more pressure on to get to right tonight – but nobody puts more pressure on me than I do. It’s a horrible feeling when you lose and it stays with you until the next time you win.
“We couldn’t have asked for a tougher game because Peterborough have really gone for it and they will be up there.
“Their strikers and wingers pose a big threat – but they will see it as a very tough game too.
“They have just played Darlington away (and got a 1-1 draw) so this will be their second tough away game in three days.”
After Saturday’s defeat changes are inevitable for Town and Darren Moss, Neil Ashton and Darran Kempson will all be pushing for starts in what is likely to be a reshuffled defence.
Michael Symes will also be hoping to force his way into the starting line-up, with his battle to regain full fitness providing only limited first-team opportunities to date.
Contrary to some reports, tonight’s game kicks off at the traditional midweek time of 7.45pm.

I hope Town do win but I think this is a big ask. Whilst there is more skill in the team than last season they seem a bit brittle in defence.

A whopping disappointing result and performance on Saturday, lets see what you are really made of tonight.
Concentrate on football not on feeding the papers how good your going to be.

You must remember the better the ground and the higher your league standing the harder it is to win because the opposition naturally tries harder, don’t give up the ghost but let’s see how good you really are, there are a lot of supporters who have still got faith in you, but come on lads we need good results, one more than the opposition is all we need.
