Please . . . Don’t Panic!

Talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Following last week’s crisis at Northern Rock – where people were so panic-stricken they stormed the bank to QUEUE – today we had the terror of tornadoes sweeping Britain, writes our News Blogger David Burrows.
The television footage truely reflected the scale of the devastation caused by the “twisters”.
There were shots of wooden fences with MISSING PANELS, a trampoline that was A BIT BENT and even a roof with THREE MISSING TILES – Sky sent their Skycopter up for that one.
No wonder residents in the South were clambering to tell their tales of woe. Insurance companies are bracing themselves for claims running into the tens of pounds.
In fairness, there was one image of an overturned caravan, but when I watched that film with Bill Paxman in it I saw cows being picked up and thrown on top of cars.
Although, thinking about it, after Foot and Mouth and blue tongue I suspect that’s the last thing farmers want.
