Gunnell back on track
Saturday 22nd September 2007, 11:45AM BST.
Shropshire’s Adrian Gunnell got his bid to qualify for the final stages of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix back on track last night.
The Telford potter recorded a 4-2 win over Scot Fraser Patrick after suffering a 4-0 defeat to little-known Welsh player Ian Preece in the round-robin qualifiers at Prestatyn.
Gunnell now has four more matches to play over the weekend in his qualifying group – with Paul Davies, Lee Walker, Tian Pengfei and Liu Chuang the opposition, with the top two in the group qualifying for the main tournament at Aberdeen next month.
