Gunnell back on track

Adrian GunnellShropshire’s Adrian Gunnell got his bid to qualify for the final stages of the Royal London Watches Grand Prix back on track last night.

The Telford potter recorded a 4-2 win over Scot Fraser Patrick after suffering a 4-0 defeat to little-known Welsh player Ian Preece in the round-robin qualifiers at Prestatyn.

Gunnell now has four more matches to play over the weekend in his qualifying group – with Paul Davies, Lee Walker, Tian Pengfei and Liu Chuang the opposition, with the top two in the group qualifying for the main tournament at Aberdeen next month.
