Video brings stormy weather

flood_alert.jpgI think it was all my own fault, writes video journalist James Shaw.

As if I hadn’t seen enough ‘extreme’ weather to last me a lifetime, I had to go and edit a blooming video about climate change.

But actually, it was quite interesting.

Firstly, the difference in opinions was quite amazing.

In today’s politically correct world, it is great that there are still issues out there that people are allowed to disagree on without being given all sorts of ugly labels.

So thank you for that, Shropshire.

Long may the comments continue (they help me justify my meagre job…) Anyway, another reader questioned whether this year’s weather has, in fact, been extreme at all.

Granted, the storms in places such as Mexico, Thailand and Australia are far and above much worse than anything we have had this summer.

But that is not really the point.

The weather we have had this year has been extreme for our usually placid climate.

So what else have we been up to this week?

My wife and I have been trying to arrange our move to our new house… (Quick tip: NEVER, EVER, think these matters will go smoothly).

Our pet cat has taken to disembowling spiders and our collie seem to enjoy headbutting the table as he goes past – they more than justify the tag of ‘Chaos and Mayhem’.

And the pet tortoise? Well, I think it just looks depressed…

Maybe I should film them – would you lot watch that?

Oh well, back to work!!!
